I looked up my new grey's info at Greyhound-data.com and it said she was done racing at the end of 2006. She just became available for adoption in Dec. of 2007. Where was she spending that transition year at? Just trying to maybe understand her and her past life a bit better....
It didnt say she had had a previous home... |

Unfortunately, the racing info on Greyhound-Data is only as good as the person entering it. Some people are very good about posting the data, while some aren't. It's possible that your dog may have been recovering from an injury while the owners/trainers decided to race or to "pet out". Perhaps there was some retraining... Or it could hve been a combination. It is regrettable that many of our dogs will periods of their lives that we'll never know about. _________________ Elizabeth

Some tracks do not have a reporting system and don't show up on Greyhound-data.com.
You can call the NGA office, give them your dog's race name and they will give you the owner's phone number.
What is your dog's racing name? _________________ Christina

Her name was RMZ Fort Laramie- I was thinking maybe she had a previous home since there is a year long gap, but now I'm wondering if maybe she was injured or the rest of the results were just not posted. |

Did you adopt Laramie recently from GFNC? We played with her the day we adopted Carolina.
I did a google search on Carolina's race name. I found she had been with another adoption agency before coming to GFNC. It did fill in some of the gaps. The date of the vet certificate and the vet's location also helped. But then I wasn't trying to fill a year, only about 7-8 months.
Congrats on your new Furbaby.

NGA's phone number is 785-263-4660 to get the dog's owner contact.
They are always very helpful. _________________ Christina

Thank you for all of your suggestions! I was incorrect with her racing name, it was actually "Zms Fort Laramie". I googled her but could not find anything. She was spayed this past September so I'm not sure if that means anything or not. She was only at GFNC for about 2-3 weeks before I adopted her, so I'm guessing she was maybe up for adoption somewhere else... |

Laramie was supposed to be in one of the last group of greys that came out of Melbourne from Dennis Tyler. I think there is almost always a lag time of months to a year on some of these dogs that you will never be able to fill in. _________________ Blanche E Fedor
