I'd love a second greyhound lol, but I'm only 16, so I think it'll have to wait till I get my own place at least haha. _________________ We long for an affection altogether ignorant of our faults. Heaven has accorded this to us in the uncritical canine attachment. ~George Eliot |

I think it's awesome that your dad is getting into getting things for the dog. _________________ Elizabeth

Getting things with my credit card, haha. Seriously, he's being really awesome about the dog, though. He's done all his research and bought all the books and is really committed. _________________ We long for an affection altogether ignorant of our faults. Plans have changed a bit, so we should be picking him up tomorrow or Saturday, but it's definitely worth the wait! I'm so excited! _________________ We long for an affection altogether ignorant of our faults. Heaven has accorded this to us in the uncritical canine attachment. ~George Eliot |

Not really, we have a couple ideas, but I think we're going to wait in till we get a chance to know him a little better. Thanks for all your help! I'll keep you updated once we get him! _________________ We long for an affection altogether ignorant of our faults. Welcome and Congratulations on adopting Peace.
Maddie's (her real name is Madaket) racing name was "Doobiesaurus" (can you see why I changed her name)- plus growing up all of my childhood dogs (except one) started with an "M" (maybe because our last name is Martin). I chose Madaket because since I was 6 we have vacationed on Nantucket and there is a small area called Madaket. And I have a special place in my heart for the island as well now for her.
You will know when you find the right name for him, it may turn out to be "Peace" Again Welcome and Congrats. _________________ Amy

"Doobiesaurus"? Who would bet on a dog with the name "Doobiesaurus"??
It's cute, though, I like it.
I will be at the kennel on Saturday, maybe I'll meet you and Peace!
Blanche, will Mizz Izzy Buzzy be there?
I am collecting donations to bring to the kennel, have a bunch of stuff already.
Hope the new JCKC hounds arrived safely!! I can help bathe them on Saturday, or whatever is needed. _________________ Christina

Christina - all of her brothers and sisters have the saurus after their names
there is Johnasaurus, Blondiesaurus, Veggiesaurus, Mollysaurus and Fergysaurus. There were 6 in the litter Blondisaurus and Dobiesaurus were named after the owners kids (they were nicknames - Doobie was for the boy and Blondie was the girl is what I found out when I wrote to her owner for transfer of ownership) I still send them photos of Mads and Christmas cards.
Can you see the announcer at the track and " here comes Doobiesaurus inside around the bend and Doobiesaurus wins it in the end what an amazing race!" _________________ Amy

that's funny... could you imagine calling him doobie? here doobie!!!!
odie's name was abita bishop... who knows where his last owner got "odie" from... "bishop" would have been a pretty cool name. i like sticking with their racing names or something like it. that is my opinion. of course, in the case of "doobiesaurus", i don't know what i would do! odie already knew his name when i got him after being returned so changing it seemed cruel. _________________ Traci

I could not imagine calling her Doobie, I think the kennel was going to call her Dobie, however the day I went up there is the day she came in off the hauler from FL. I was actually there to see another dog but she had already been put as adoption pending. I looked at "Dobie" as she was quiet and was not barking in her crate (little did I know- she know is very vocal and can be "mouthy" when I am on the phone. but I will never forget it, We were out in the gated area she was shaking and eating grass, and was friendly with a little girl who was there (which was great as we have kids in my subdivision) I made up my mind then and there. Mads did suffer from SA after I got her home and hated her crate when I was at work. But we worked through it and she has almost free reign of the house. The parts that I don't want her in, I close the doors or baby gate off as she is a snooper and will dive into the garbage cans.
Hopefully Traci we can meet you and your boys at Cinco de Mayo at the Kennel. Maddie will be celebrating her 6th birthday on the 5th of May. _________________ Amy

I sent Peace home about 2:45 this afternoon, so you should be hearing something soon.
I'll be at the kennel around 1:00 Christina, I have to work the whole afternoon for lack of adoption counselors, but with the weather forcast, it will most likely be quiet. Izzy will be with me, but not too busy I hope-she was spayed on Wednesday. I wanted to get it all out of the way so that when I can let her off her leash (hopefully next week to 10 days) she will be able to enjoy herself running.
We only got 4 of the new dogs bathed today because with 3 going home today and 2 tomorrow, that was 9 dogs getting bathed, so we will have quite a few left if you want to do a few. Then maybe the will get finished up on Sunday. _________________ Blanche E Fedor
