This might be a good fundraising opportunity, not to mention Meet and Greet!
Belk will hold its Charity Sale benefiting local charities and non-profits on May 3, 2008 from
6-10 a.m. at Belk stores companywide. This event provides a chance for Belk customers to take advantage of tremendous once-a-season savings at their local Belk store. By purchasing a $5 ticket from participating local charities and non-profit organizations, you get fantastic savings on Belk products including rarely discounted brands.

All proceeds from ticket sales for this one-of-a-kind event are retained by local non-profit and charity organizations, so not only do you get fantastic savings on Belk products, you also improve the quality of life in your community!

In order to participate in the Belk Charity Sale, organizations must have an IRS 501 (c)(3) designation.

I totally respect your feelings. I don't mean to step on any toes, I just thought it might be a good opportunity for greyhound adoption exposure and funds.

We have looked into this in previous years and the problem we had was getting people to sell the Belks cards. At my work there are several people who do this and they told me it wasn't very profitable unless you had people who would get the cards sold.

Do you know if they charity has to purchase the cards up front? And if they do will Belks refund for any unsold cards?

(As for fur, my Mom had a fur coat that she would wear to church. When she passed I took the fur coat and had it made into teddy bears for my sister-in-laws and nieces. Sprayed a little White Linen on the bear and it was as if Mom was still there. I most say though that a real fur bear and dogs don't go together. Jasmine got mine, he is missing an eye now.)

I don't know anything about "cards". To my knowledge the first sale like this was held this past fall and was open to the general public.

The procedure as I understand it is

-The sale is from 6-10am on a Saturday
-Customers buy a ticket ($5 I believe)to access the store
-The proceeds of the ticket sales go to the specified charity

I know Belk is offering great discounts during the sale and the last one was a huge success.
