Hello, It seems that Bridgett is getting worse. Saturday we took her to the meet & greet and she would not even go inside the center. We had to go and get another grey to come and then she went right in with no problem, not fast enough.

Oh, that's what it was about, I thought you wanted to borrow a greyhound for someone to pet outside the mall. Ha, that's funny! Razz
Some dogs don't like the shiny floor at that mall, it looks like an ice skating ring. But I still think Brigett needs a brother. Wink

Blanche - Once you told me that you got a puppy, my first thought was "Her life will definitely change!" Laughing Isn't it fun, though?

I once took Sport and Sherry to an affair sponsored by the schools to show the kids what things were available for them to volunteer at. The floor was a highly waxed linoluem and they wouldn't even set foot on it.

Christina-I don't know if I need all this "fun" at my age. I was never going to get a dog again that might outlive me.

Sorry Linda-I was thinking you were telling me I needed yet another grey-whew-not with a puppy. I was always told greyhound puppies are holy terrors-and that was not what my next grey was going to be.

Blanche, you were just in the right place at the right time. I can't wait to see the little landshark.

No, Bridgett is fine with any kind of floor. We were just trying to get her inside the mall. She walks in the kitchen, bathrooms, and even in closets. She is just deathly afraid of other people, sounds, and like Blanch says the next house on the deck, opening the door, or the next door boy comming in the back yard, wind. She RUNS inside and she will just not come back outside. When it is 2:00 AM, dark and quit, she is just fine. In fact will play.

Yep-sounds just like Izzy, but if she thinks we are going to the kennel she will walk right out-depending on which way we turn as we go out the door.
Yesterday the scary man in the yard next door came over to the fence to meet her and she went right up to the fence-she still looks over then when we go out, but maybe you should ask the next door neighbors to come out and meet her-just a thought. I don't know how Izzy will be when she sees them in the yard again, but she didn't seem quite so scared last night.

Puppies is how we ended up with greyhounds. Neither Rick or I wanted to do a puppy again. So instead we got an 18 month greyhound. Which was really still a puppy just taller. Wink

Hope Bridgett is doing better. Greyhounds react so differently when they see other greyhounds compared to regular dogs. It is funny to watch. The bell on the back door is wonderful. We have used that with all of our dogs. Even Smokey when he hears the bell ring will come to the backdoor to go out.

Thank You, Bridgett is doing so much better I am scared to even talk about it. For the past two days we have gone on a walk when I get home from work. She goes outside, with no problems, and we then go on a walk. She just seems to want to go, and still hears the sounds, but it does not have as huge an effect as it did. I am hoping this is a breakthrough. This weekend I am going to try her around people, not grey people, and see what she does. I too am amazed how she, and other grey's , react around other grey's and their mom's and pop's. They all know each other and are glad to be together, and will greet each other when one walks up, like an old lost friend. I just think all people should be like that.
