This is our first time at MH. We've been wanting to go for two years now, but couldn't. I've been checking out the MH website for all that time. I noticed the WONDERFUL pictures taken by a professional photographer.
I see that there will be a photographer again this year. I was wondering about how much it is for pictures. We have two greys and a whippet, and so far, have not been able to get them together for one good picture. From what I've seen, this photographer is REALLY good, and I have big hopes to finally get a good picture of my fur babies. But I' like to have an idea of what it's going to cost me. If you can't give me that info, or an approx. of what it was last year, can you direct me to their website? |

Oh yes, Vicky is wonderful. She has the patience and ability to take stunning pictures.
She'll take as many pics as you like (group, single etc) and sells the CD with all pics from the whole event for $20. Super deal! _________________ Christina

Well, I saw that - the cd for $20 - but I thought that was just all the pictures from the event. Not your personal pictures. So you are saying that for $20, I'll get all the event pictures PLUS personal pictures of my hounds?? |

Yep, she puts all pictures on the CD, outdoor pics as well as portraits. You pay at the event where she has the backdrop set up and she'll mail you the CD. Pics do not have copy right, you can print yourself. _________________ Christina

Vicki does a wonderful job at these events. You can have her take pictures inside with the backdrop and some more outside. I have seen people who put on matching shirts and then use the picture for their Christmas card family photo. _________________ Lynda M

what if a person is not able to get a room at the sidney james? will they be not as involved with all the fun? is everything happening there at the lodge or will you have to travel anyway to where all the events are? _________________ Traci

Most of the events are at Mynatt Park which is beside the Sidney James. The hotel is big enough for the number of attendees we had last year so getting a room should not be an issue. Seminars will be at the hotel's conference center.
The Holiday Inn we have used in previous years is now called the Garden Plaza and I think they are still pet friendly. It is within walking distance of the park. Another pet friendly hotel near the park is The Econo Lodge on Reagan Dr. It is down the street from the park. _________________ Lynda M

Yeah, we waited until the last minute and they say they are full. We will search the other places suggested. |

Good news, I called back this morning and spoke with someone different and they are not full. In fact I was given a few different rooms to choose from. |

DH called the hotel this afternoon and the hotel is filling up fast. He was told there were only a few two double bed rooms left. They do have Queen or King size bed rooms. After those are gone the choice will be a suite. (Which would be my choice because you get more room.)
The Garden Plaza is next door. This is the Holiday Inn we used last year with a new name. We are not contracted with them so I don't know their pricing or pet fee/limit. _________________ Lynda M

Back to the pictures - do I need to schedule a time with her ahead of time? How does this work? |

You do not need to pre-schedule with Vicki. She will be around the whole weekend. She will have an indoor area setup for photos with a backdrop. With this being a new hotel for us she has to scope out where she will be. Then she will be at the park both Fri and Sat for outdoor photos. So when you see her just tap her shoulder (She is the one with usually two cameras around her neck. )
But don't tap her at 11:30 because that is when the group photo is. Once she takes the large group photo she will take individual group shots. So if you want to bring your group sign and have a picture taken please do.
On Saturday Vicki will have someone selling the pictures. What you do is pay her and fill out a mailer with your address. She will then mail you CDs that contain ALL the photos from the event. Last year I think the price was $20. _________________ Lynda M
