Laramie has now gotten sick in twice in the past few days...and it is quite a bit. I am feeding her one of the recommended high end food lines and their treats as well. They haven't bothered her until now (I have had her 3 weeks). She has been chewing on a raw hide bone- could this be what it is? It has a terrible odor to it as well- any suggestions on what to use to get rid of this? She threw up on her paws too- I know they don't need very many baths, but will her skin be ok if I bath her?
Also, her anxiety issues may be solved! I have been leaving her out of the crate and free to rome the whole house. She did not chew carpet like she did when in my room and to my knowledge, did not cry. She also seemed much more calm when I returned home- no panting or anything. She was out for 6 hours with no accidents (except throwing up). I think we are making progress!

If it smells that bad You might want to be sure that she's not eating poop.
If You're walking her for her potty breaks then I'm sure You would know if She was, but if You're letting Her run in a fenced yard it's possible, that goes for in the house too.

Not to scare anyone- Confused but when Rowdy was doing this a couple weeks ago it turned out he had eaten a few articles of clothing and basically his stomach was too full to keep down the food. He would eat like normal and he actually acted completely normal but then later I would find the evidence that he had thrown up. It also had a bad odor to it and that was because of the items in his stomach. I had no idea he had even chewed anything much less completely ingested 4 pair if undewear and a few socks... if she has free roam of the house is there any way she could have gotten into a hamper or clothes?

I'm sure Rowdy's case was rare but it happened all the same.

As far as rawhide goes- I don't give it. I've never had good experiences with it- they either got the runs or choked until they threw up.

Hope this helps- good luck!

Normally it isn't the food that makes them throw up. If the food wasn't agreeing with her, she would have bad gas or diahreah, but it shouldn't maker her throw up. It may have been something else she ate, piece of that carpet she originally chewed up? They should not be given rawhide with knots on the end as they may swallow a whole knot when it is chewed off. Does she throw up only after eating rawhide-if so, I wouldn't give it to her. If the throwing up gets worse, I would take her to the vet. A good thing to have is a baby thermomter also. If dogs are throwing up a couple times a day, make sure their temp. doesn't go up-a dogs normal temp is 102.

You can bathe her whenever you want-we just don't recommend like every two weeks as they don't have a lot of oil in their skin, but please don't put up with a smelly dog because they normally aren't.
