Uh oh!
So glad he threw it all up and seems OK now.
On a positive note, my first grey Smooty was very interested in dirty socks and undies when we first got him and also in goosing me from behind if I bent over. Happily enough he lost interest in this obsession after a month or so. I guess he had enough of our scent and did not need to constantly re-charge his nose with it.
So, hopefully Rowdy will give up this habit soon too for you.
Very Happy

There have been several posts lately about dogs eating stuff. Fortunately in both cases the dog threw the stuff back up.

As a reminder this can be very serious. A recent adoptor has their greyhound at the emergency vet. He had to undergo surgery and have part of his small intestines removed because he ate something he shouldn't have. He is slowly recovering and needs everyone to send good thoughts his way.

Someone posted about baby proofing the house which is a good way to look at it. Remember to put any medication in an upper cabinet so they can't get to it. As many times as we tell new adoptors this I am guilty of putting medication on the cabinet where I fix their food and must constantly remind myself to put it away after each meal.

We had to have a foot of intestines removed from one of the kennel dogs because she chewed up her carpet and ate part of it. It then was stuck in her intestines. It's dangerous if they pick up pieces of clothing and a hamper is called for if they chew. You never know when they will swallow what they chew.

We had already baby proofed the house prior to his arrival... what we didn't bank on was that he would be a snoop and learn how to open the hamper!!! Laughing

It's only my daughter's hamper that he cares about so it's now in her closet but just last night he was poking around in her room and she opened her closet to put her shoes up. He darted right in and stood at the hamper the looked back at me like "what???!!! I wasn't gonna steal panties!!!" with those big sad hound eyes... innocent my foot!!! Laughing Laughing Laughing

You guys are right though- it's very serious. That's why I posted in the first place because even the silliest of actions (stealing clothes, killing stuffies, chewing ) can land them in big medical trouble!

For us it was the garbage can. None of our dogs ever bothered the garbage can until we got greyhounds Shocked Then Jasmine and Maggie-Mae got in the trash and ate about two chickens worth of cooked chicken carcass and crableg shells from the night before. YUMMMY!

Fortunately a high fiber diet helped with the passage out Embarassed and they were both okay. Maggie did have to make a trip to the vet. She wasn't passing hers and I think that scared the you know what out of her Wink .

Back when Derrick was alive he was the counter surfer. He devoured a bag a of Reeses Peanut Butter Cups (wrappers and all). He also at a bag of apples (cores and all). With Heidi I never had a problem although she did get into the trash intially but, Derrick was the instigator. With Tara, I never had a problem except in the beginning. She at a 35lb bag of dog food the first week I had her.

Baby proofing is an excellent idea!

Of Our three Pride is the only one We have to watch when it comes to little plastic things. He once ate one of My Grandsons Army men, but We got it back two days later. The wife likes those yogurt drinks so We keep a close eye on the plastic lids or We'll find them chewed up some where.

Bernard likes Qtips and Pens/pencils.

Been lucky with everything else. Well, he does love plastic bottles, so we strip them of lables lids and the little ring and he can go to town for hours.
