I just had a call from Denise Ellis. Her blue brindle Rex has been out of the house for about 3 hours. Her address is 2101 Northbay Drive, Brown Summit.
It is off Yanceyville in Greensboro.
If you know anyone in that area-please let them know-it's awfully cold out for him to be out.
Denise cell phone is 451-0097 Her husband John's cell is 451-6265

My cell is 601-7810

Thanks Leah-I had to go up the kennel to do turnout after I posted and just got back.
Rex was picked up by animal control and they just happened to call there before they closed and went to pick him up.

Once again, a plea to everyone, please do not put fancy collars on your dogs unless you transfer the tags to them and don't let them run bare in the house. Every time I get a call about a lost or found dog-there are no collars and/or tags on them (because I take them off them in the house and they don't go out without them). There is often that one time that they slip out accidentally. If they are picked up with a tag with their name and just your phone number on it-it will help you get them back if they are picked up or walk up to someone.

I am so glad they were found. This would have been a terrible night for them to be out. cold

I agree with Blanche, You have to keep a tag on them. Even a microchip isnt going to get them home right away.
You can get a small round tag made at pet smart with a name and number for about 5 dollars at the make it yourself booth.

I've come to the conclusion, that probably every one of us on any forum has a tag on their dogs collars-even when I got Sport a leather collar I wrote my information on the inside of his collar-just in case his tags got off.
I tell anyone that I'm sending a grey home with to please leave our tag on or get one of their own and even will tell them about something like this to try to get it into their heads what can happen, but some just don't seem to get it.
Maybe telling them to bring a tag with them when they come to pick up their dog and taking that time to explain about losing them might help-who knows.

Great idea. Let me know if you decide to do this and I will require it also when one of my fosters gets a home.

Bringing a tag is a good idea. I tell everyone when I send them home that the GFNC tag is required on all collars so if they switch collars they need to put the GFNC tag on it.

I know when I came to the kennel to pick up Maddie I already had her tag made with my info on it and had Wayne put it on her collar for me. She still has her GFNC tag on her as well.
