Hi Everyone
I know this is a bad time to be asking for money, but if you can find it in your heart to donate-please do. Selma is the girl that was missing and hit by a car in Clinton, NC.
Selma had possibly 2 fractures of the hip/sacrum, multiple abrasions and a gaping wound on her rear end. She has bandages on all four legs that have to be changed daily and is developing pressure sores because she can't move around by herself.
Although she was not adopted through us, Selma is temporarily in the care of our GFNC satellite people in Wilmington and her vet bills are ongoing. If you can send anything to help with her vet bills it will be appreciated. Please send them to the kennel address:
2908 Oak Ridge Road, Oak Ridge, NC 27310
Or, you can use paypal (see below)
Please mark on your donation that this is for Selma. Thank you for caring

Blanche,

My husband Mac and I donated $100 today for Selma via PayPal.

Please please please, fellow GFNC members, send what you can to help Selma. I was the one who drove her to the emergency clinic in Wilmington. I hope I never see another greyhound in such poor shape again.

At 5:00 am Selma was helped across the Bridge.
Barb Brooks recieved a call from Dr Bolz at the Emergency Vet clinic in Wilmington. Selma had bloat. Given the state of her body, the fractures, the infection, Dr Bolz felt she could not survive surgery and that it would be best to put her to sleep. If the bloat had not occurred, she still would have faced many months of recuperative care.
Barb made the decision to let Selma cross the Bridge. She was with Selma, and held her, and let her know that she was loved. Her broken body is in pain no more.

Run free from pain on your new angel wings Sweet Selma

Poor girl Crying or Very sad She fought a good fight, it's a shame it had to end once she was found....
Why was she not reunited w/her family or at a vet closer to home? (just curious) Or did her family not get her back & should not be adopted to ??
