It was such a beautiful fall day today! So I took the hounds for a nice hike at Harris Lake near my house.
The 5 mile loop trail takes you along the lake and through the woods with interesting views of the Shearon Harris cooling tower.
We had a great time, even saw a green snake on the trail.
11 year old GreenBean pulled the whole way, she is still in great shape for a senior girl!
Poor Waldo kept stepping on prickly gumballs and had to be 'operated on' all the time.
Diesel got the puppy zoomies and found many intersting things on the way - sticks, leaves, bugs, mushrooms etc.

Butter had a great time, look at her smile!


Since I am still dreaming of buying a show afghan some day, I am practicing stacking and coat care on Butter.
Well, far from perfect, blame it on the wind.

Butter you are such a beautiful girl. Tell Mom she already has a show hound. You "show" off anytime you can.

Thank you! I have so much fun with my dogs, and Butter is quite a character!
I sent Butter's picture to her breeder and she asked me if I don't want to get another dog from her since I take such good care of her.
NO, I have enough hounds for now!!
But some day I still like to get a black or bluish male afghan hound that I can take in the show ring. Until then, I keep dreaming.
