Some of you know what all has been going on with Gerty our 20 year old cat. I got Gerty when she was just a kitten and have loved her for 20 years. Because of her condition and her not eating she had gotten down to just 4 1/4 lbs. She wasn't able to move and had to wear a diaper. And let me tell you, diapering a cat is not fun. I finally came to terms with what was going on with her and made the decision that was needed. Rick had left this to me as she was my cat. Today we took her to the vet and sent her to the bridge where she can run and play. I can see her chasing after our Irish Wolfhound Gizmo. She loved nothing more than running up and smacking him so he would play.

Thank you Gerty for being my cat and giving me 20 wonderful years of love. We will miss you!

WOW, Gerty had a long wonderful life. 20 years, I think thats more than 9 lives ! I know she will be missed.

I'm so sorry to hear about Gerty. No matter how long we have our pets it isn't long enough. She has quite a few of her past housemates with her and I'm sure she was greeted fondly.
