I just called and made my reservation at the Red Roof Inn for Autumn Unleashed. I have a RediCard and had earned a free night. The weekend of Autumn Unleashed is listed as an Event weekend and they will not except my free night and the rate is $95.99 a night!! Has our Open house gotten big enough that we are now an event in this area or is there something else going on that weekend? The only time I stay at the Red Roof is when we go for open house in the spring and fall. If they aren't gonna let me use my free nights at these times then my card isn't doing me any good. Are there alternatives that allow pets?

I don't know. Hopefully someone who lives in that neck of the woods will have the answer for us.

I don't know any other event they are talking about, but it is also the same day as the Lexington Bar-b-que. I don't know if they get people up this far for that.

This morning when I called I had to call the 800# to redeem my coupon. This afternoon I called the Red Roof in Winston-Salem and they said the event is Market America it has something to do with furniture and the rates are double for the event. I hope this doesn't hurt our turn out I know at least one person here who has said that at that rate she can't come.

Guess we picked a bad week. Furniture market is the mega-million money maker in High Point. That's when people from all over the world come to see the new season of furniture. It lasts 7-10 days and all rooms are filled for probably 30 miles and yes, they hike the prices up.
Next time we'll have to take that into consideration, but we didn't even think of it. We were trying to pick a time between BBH and Dewey and whatever else is around that time, but we were thinking greyhound events, not furniture market.

The High Point furniture market is October 1 through October 7. Does anyone know what Market America is?

My inlaws are going to Market America. It's an event where US goods such as pottery and jewlery are sold to other potters and jewlers for sale in their stores and shops. It's supposed to be a huge event.

Lori
I just checked on the website above-pick NC and then I picked Burlington which is 20 miles from GSO.
The Motel 6 looks reasonable-$46. for the date of Oct 27-28.

Thank you Blanche. I will keep my reservation at the Red Roof because I know they will allow me to bring the whole gang. Most other places will limit the Number of pets you can have. The Red Roof has allowed all of us to invade them with all of our packs for many years so because I have 5 hounds this is important for me. However someone who is coming alone or with one or two hounds will deffinitly be interested in this info and I will pass it on.

Lori, remember the open house is only one day this year. I am excited to sleep in my own bed Saturday night! Smile

Yes but it is a 4 hour ride one way for me. I will stay Friday night and drive home Saturday after the open house.
