I will be taking Paige to the Vet in the morning to have a red spot(looks like a blood blister) removed from her side. When We adopted her in Dec. 04 she had one on her butt cheek, I didn't think much of it until a year later when it began to change. We took her to the vet and had it removed, the Biopsy came back as Hemoangiosarcoma which doesn't usually show up topically. Ultrasounds and X-rays followed and she was found to be clear of any further cancer. Now My fingers are crossed that this thing hasn't come back. I'm sharing this so that You might check Your hounds and be sure they don't have any of these spots.
Keep a good thought for Paige

Paige came home yesterday with good news. The Dr.said her x-rays
looked great!
However, now we have another dilema...Pride went for his check-up,
and the Dr. said he has a heart murmer. He has an appointment at
Carolina Vet.Specialist.
Of course,I started crying...Pride is my baby, and he is only 4yrs.old.I am so worried.Anyone else had this kind of problem before?
Please keep him in your prayers.
Thanks, Sandy _________________ He is Your friend, Your partner, Your defender, Your Dog. You are His life, His love, His leader.

Prayers and white light for Pride.
My son was born with a heart murmur and it never bothered him-hopefully it is the same with dogs. _________________ Blanche E Fedor

Heart murmurs are graded levels 1-6. What level is Pride?
Mystery had a level 1 murmur when we got him almost 4 years ago. He's 15 1/2 and his heart is still going strong!!! Opie is now 9 years old and was diagnosed with a level 3 or 4 murmur last year, which has not changed since then. He is still wonderfully active, playful and happy. He doesn't need any medical support.
There is no surgery for heart murmurs in dogs but there are several medications that can help with blood pressure and to strengthen the heart beat. (Oral bacteria is a suspected cause of many murmurs. I had great hopes for the dental vaccine, but it's effectiveness hasn't been proven yet. Keep brushing those teeth.) Many people and dogs have murmurs throughout their lives with little or no effect on them.
I wouldn't panic just yet. Learn all you can and then relax and continue to enjoy your baby!
Best wishes,

The Vet said His murmur was about a 2 to 2 1/2 and after reading the link about heart murmurs on this forum I'm not as worried as I was before.
We will know tomorrow after 11:00am and will keep everyone posted as to the outcome. Thanks for all of the great info. You guys ROCK !!!!!

After taking Pride in to have his heart murmur checked the Dr. didn't think there was to much to worry about at this time but to bring him back in 6 months to be rechecked to see if there is any change.
Keep a good thought.
