|

Our dear friend, Dick Sloyan, has left us and his beloved Duchess to carry on. For those of us who had the the all too brief pleasure to know him knew a passionate and tireless advocate and volunteer for the greyhound cause. He was quick with a smile, a joke, an idea, a plan, and a helping hand for hound and human alike.
We will miss you, Dick, and will remember your friendship with gratitude. _________________ Cynthia, huMom to Carly (Cw Your Charming), Princess (Lofty Princess), & Cruz, the galgo

Dick was such a kind person. He always had a joke to tell. He was a great greyhound advocate. He was so devoted to his sweet Duchess. Dick you will truly be missed. _________________ Leah mom to Romeo, Abbey, Sweetie, Maggie the collie and Luke at the bridge. Waiting on Tippy and Cindy Lou. |

I feel blessed to have known him.
Our time to be friends was too short.

A huge loss - Dick was a "greyt" guy in every sense of the word. He will be missed by all. My thoughts and prayers goes out to Dick's family and sweet Duchess.

Dick was a special man, and we are better for having known him, even though the time was so short.
We'll miss you, Dick.

Dick was so willing to help me when I first adopted Maddie. He always had a playful joking way when he spoke with me. The joking that we shared and our love of greyhounds is something that I will always treasure I will truly miss Dick but he is peaceful now. _________________ Amy

In lieu of flowers, Dick's family is requesting donations to GFNC in Dick's memory. Lynda Montgomery has kindly agreed to collect them so the Sloyans won't have to worry about this right now. She will keep a list so that they know who has made donations and see that the money gets to the kennel. Dick would be so pleased with this.
Send them by mail to: The Montgomerys at 2524 Lumina Avenue, Charlotte NC 28208.
If you wish to send a sympathy card to his son & daughter-in-law, that address is:
Chris & Maureen Sloyan
6024 Burnt Mill Run
Matthews, NC 28104
Thanks so much. _________________ Cynthia, huMom to Carly (Cw Your Charming), Princess (Lofty Princess), & Cruz, the galgo

Dick and I spent quite a few hours together at Meet & Greets and I just loved his enthusiasm and passion when it came to greyhounds and his country! He impacted me more than he can imagine and will be missed so much. He really understood what it mean to be a true volunteer.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this sad time of loss. |
