Smokey and Leo had a blast at the Open House today. Thank you to all the volunteers for pulling the event together! Both Leo and Smokey did the Hound Dash and I was impressed with Smokey. He and Rick ran 1 mph all the way. You go Smokey!!!!

I made it to Cinco de Mayo today and had a GREYT time!! Dancing

The hound dash was so much fun! Diesel and his brother Chip ran together, they goofed off playing and got a 28 mph, oh well... Embarassed
Then Diesel ran by himself and got a 33 mph. I thought that was pretty good - until a lady said her tripod ran a 32!! Shocked Laughing

Diesel had his reading done and told the lady that he really enjoys sitting in the back seat of the van and look out the window. That is so true, he loves going places in 'his' hounds mobile!! Very Happy

Thanks to all the hard working volunteers that put on such a wonderful event!! See you at Mountain Hounds! celebrate

I went on Saturday and Princess and I had a good time. Carly and Cruz kept each other company at home for the day .... Carly hid under the 2 Hounds Design vendor table the whole time last fall and Cruz barked at all the non-greyhounds and behaved in a way that would tend to reflect unfavorably on the Spanish Galgo as a whole. Very Happy

Princess gives the event four paws up (a full roach). She enjoyed all the treats she mooched and especially liked that yummy hot dog she stole off a friend's plate! Next to the food, the games were a blast.

She was obsessed with whole fun run concept. I walked her up to just watch originally, but when she nearly pulled my arm off, I decided to let her try it. She had so much fun I let her have a second run later. She got much faster the second time and ended up tied for the fastest time on Saturday. She's a really muscular dog and runs low and hard. I swear she looked just like a cannon ball coming up the field!

She can't wait until the fall open house! Laughing

Cynthia-

What was Princess's MPH in the fun run? Wish Maddie and I could have been there but it was not possible.

Way to go, Diesel! Darn that was a fast tripod! Shocked Wish I'd seen that!

I didn't take Carly, but I'll bet you she wouldn't have even broken into a run -- probably would have trotted away from the squawker. I've yet to see anything remotely competative in her. But she is SO sweet. She's a lover, not a runner! Very Happy

I have a bad memory for numbers and I left the two little certificates at Bob & Alisha's vendor table! I think her first try was 34 mph and the second was 43 mph ... something like that. The guy with the speed gun said 4 dogs tied for best speed on Saturday -- I think it was 43. If anybody remembers, feel free to chime in. I just know she loved it and seemed sorry when it was over. Very Happy

I saw one of the 43 mph dogs but I don't remember his/her name.
Cash was really fast and he killed the squawker. Laughing
My Gracie only ran 28 mph. Seems she was exhausted after sleeping the entire 5 hour drive up and 2 hours walking around 'de Mayo party. She claims had the race been held earlier she'd have done much better. Rolling Eyes
We had a very good time. Volunteers did a fantastic job of putting this together.
Somebody give Tony and PJ another hug for me will ya?
