Our beautiful Lucky went to the bridge at 10:10pm on Saturday night.
She was fine one minute and in severe pain the next (she had osteo)- I'm still in shock at how quickly it happened.
We are really missing her - I miss running to the bus stop with her in the morning - I miss how she would just come and stand next to me when she wanted to be petted (she had been doing that a lot lately) - I miss watching her eat her dinner so lady like, laying in her crate and calmly eating a few nuggets at a time (unlike Silver who sucks his food down) - I miss seeing her sleep with her tongue hanging out and then waking up with her tongue all dried out - I even miss her counter surfing (she was such a sneak!).
As heartbroken as my hubby and I are, I think Silver is suffering most of all. He seems so depressed. He normally lives to eat and take walks (driving you crazy if you are a few minutes late with either) but he isn't all that interested in eating and I have to force him to go for walks (I keep telling him exercise is good when you are depressed).
Lucky was our first grey and so holds a very special place in our hearts.

I am so very sorry for your loss. My first grey died of osteo, it is a horrible illness. _________________ Linda

I am so sorry for Your loss, I won't even pretend to know how You must feel. You will always have those wonderful memories of Lucky and one day another Greyhound will come along and fill Your heart until it runs over with love.

I am so sorry to hear about Lucky! It's even harder when you don't even have time to prepare yourself (although one can never truly be prepared for such a loss). Our pets are such a powerful daily presence in our lives --bringing us so much unconditional love and happiness --there really is such an emptiness when they leave us. Treasure your precious memories and may you find comfort in each and every one! God bless! _________________ Bonnie (wife to Mike)

So sorry to hear about Lucky! I know how hard this is. Hope before long your memories will help ease the pain.
Silver probably is depressed. I believe animals do grieve and mourn. Giving him some extra attention will help all of you!
