Well today's the day! I go to pick up Emma in a couple of hours.
Emma was previously adopted in July. Her name was changed from "Pandy" to "Emma". I'm thinking about changing it back to Pandy. I like the name Emma but Pandy is her real "race" name. What does everybody think about that??
On another note here is Sasha on top of Emma's crate anxiously waiting her arrival!!

Congratulations Greg and welcome to the GFNC family. I can see that Sasha and Emma/Pandy certainly do look related. I have changed foster dog names before and they don't seem to have trouble. The way I did it was to use both names for a while and then drop off Emma. Keep us informed.

Hi, Greg,
I changed one of my dogs names after I brought him home and he learned it pretty fast. I think the man that had Pandy said she answered to both names, so you shouldn't have any trouble with changing it back.
I know you have been excited to get her home. Congratulations! I hope you will keep in touch and let us know how she does adjusting to her new forever home. She sure is a sweet girl.

WELCOME
Changing the dogs name is a matter of personal preference. Some say that you should so that they can start a new life with you with a new name. So that you are not associated with the previous family or the trainers etc... I believe that its really up to you. Once your new family member knows how much you love her, its not going to matter to her if her name is spot or fido. As long as she is loved.
WELCOME And cant wait to meet you !!

I changed Maddie's racing name- it was Doobiesauris or Doobie for short. Can you imagine calling you dog in from the fanced in back yard yelling "Here Doobie". I couldn't. So her official name is Madaket Doobiesaurus "houdini" (as she got out of her crate numerous times when I first got her) Martin. In our family most of our dogs name have started with an M and I had to keep the tradition. Congrats on the new fur baby. _________________ Amy

i agree with debbie...whatever you decide to call your new girl won't matter as long as she knows she is loved! i can't wait to hear how your 1st few days go...just take it slow, show patience and love, have fun, and go with your heart! _________________ holly
