, tattoos 59C - 81042, black female, has been found and dropped off at a vet in Lumberton NC.
If nobody claims her by Saturday noon I'll pick her up to foster until we find her owner. Vet is booked with holiday boarders and needs the space.

Added: She was found in the parking lot of a Smithfield's restaurant, near I-95. Her owner may not be from that area and is traveling. Hope she can be reunited soon! Vet said she is as sweet as can be.

We just got back from picking her up from the vet.
She is a very sweet and friendly girl, loves people.
Obviously a family pet, a little chubby around the hips.
We don't think she was out for long.
No collar, no microchip.
The vet had her for a few days and nobody came to look for her.
We'll keep looking for her owner.

We thank the person who found Miss Pretender and dropped her off at the vet, as well as the North End Vet office in Lumberton that kept her safe!

Please let me know if you find her owner!

Yes, I posted it on G-L, Greytalk, American Greyhound, PRH board, TGS list, placed an ad in the Raleigh newspaper, ad in the Lumberton paper, called the Lumberton animal shelter, the vet already contacted all area vets, posted it on the TGS website and under her greyhound-data.com pedigree and on their forum.
I think that's about all we can do.
Her foster mom has already informed us that if her owner cannot be located she will adopt little Missy (Miss Pretender). She fits in just fine with her crew and everybody loves her!

Anyways, back to Missy,
Missy will be vetted on the 10th and adopted by her foster mom. it was love at first sight.
We did everything we could to find the owner. I even called the breeder, but no luck.

I saw her foster mom's post on another board and could tell she was already smitten. Sounds like a happy ending for this girl.

Missy is on her way back home!

Missy's owners saw her picture on our TGS website and drove all the way up from FL to get her, 12 hrs each way!

They moved from NH to FL. Missy wore a Lupine collar, the ones with two d-rings. They accidentally hooked it to the wrong ring and she slipped out of her collar at the hotel where they stayed overnight.
They stayed another day to look for her, called animal control, police etc. before continuing their trip.

Audrey and I met them off I-95 last night. I know Audrey really liked Missy, but they were sooo happy to have their dog back!!!!
Their spaniel puppy was exited to see his buddy. They said he wouldn't eat because he missed her so much.
Happy ending!

Lessons learned:
- do not use Lupine martingale collars with two d-rings!
- microchip your pets!
- contact your adoption group ASAP!

So glad Missy is home!! Hopefully her owners will get her chipped soon. Reading Audrey's post I know that she was ready to adopt but I am sure she is happy Missy found her parents and spaniel pal again.
