Hi Lynda,
I E- Mailed the administrator of another group I belong to to find out how He got rid of the problem We are having with unwanted websites.
I'll keep You posted as to whether or not He can help. If need be I'll have You communicate with Him directly to see if We can fix this problem.

Thanks Gary! I usually delete between two to four "bot" users every day. Then I add their email @ to our BAN list so they can re-enroll. Since we changed the forum so you have to be logged in to post at least we are not getting any posts from them.
It would be wonderful to know how to ban them entirely. The only way I can figure out is to set it so that you have to be approved when you enroll. Based on the number of "bots" we are seeing it is easier to just delete. It has sort of become my nightly routine. Brush my teeth, turn out the dogs, delete the bots, bring in the dogs...... _________________

I just got a reply from the administrator of the other group I'm with, and He said He went to His administators page and set the sign-up policy to require administrator approval. Maybe You can try that and see if it will get the unwanteds out of our forum.

Seriously! Is there anything that can be done to get them to tone it down a bit? I've reached the point where I don't want to come here because of the bombardment. I have lots of filters and stuff and it is still getting through even after I close out!
I don't log in alot but I do come in everyday to check on kennel news. _________________ Lori Parsons, wife to Michael, mother to Cassie and Peter and fur kids Bill, Sheana, Monty, Tasha, Ginny and Huey. With Bridge kids Dee, Sam, Max and Miss Ellie. |

I talked to the "BOTERATOR" about the problems I have been having with the web site.
I have DSL and this site only takes forever to view a page.
Now I noticed that I dont have any advertisers on my pages.
I guess its taking long to load the pages because the virus scan or firewall is blocking them? Just guessing. _________________ Debbie, mom to Reggie, Tim Tam, Chloe Isabeau, Jessie James and Jossie. (2 legged kids Cody and Kelly) Hubby Ron |
