The Wilmington Christmas Parade will be December 10th in the evening. Come and join us. Dress you and your hounds in your best Holiday finery and come help us promote GH adoptions. We will have a float for those people and hounds who are unable to march the parade route so there's no excuse for not coming. Look forward to seeing some new faces. The more the merrier.

Thanks for reposting your parade notice! I have a question about your parade. As a non-profit, do they charge you to be in the parade? We thought of doing one here locally but they wanted a fee and then $10 per dog. I wanted to check with others and see if this was standard.

I don't do the arrangements for the parades but I believe they do charge a group fee. I think it is $30 or less. They don't charge per dog or we wouldn't be doing it either. I have 5 hounds and would never shell out $50 to march in a parade.

Let's hope this time we're not near the motorcycles. Shocked
At a parade in a previous year Gracie fell in love with a llama Laughing

Triangle Greyhound Society never paid for participating in a parade, we usually do three a year, plus the St Patricks parade.

That is so Neat- wish we could do a parade- great for the public to see the greys -- and that Trot Nixon is going to be the grand Marshall. I used to watch him play in the minors when I was in college in Lynchburg VA.

Have fun y'all.

Sadly I heard today that at the last minute something unexpected came up and Trot Nixon had to back out of the parade. Crying or Very sad Bummer.
Oh Well we'll have fun anyway.

Our greyt parade coordinator, Roy, said that there was no entry fee for a non-profit organization like GFNC. That's the good news. The bad news is that we won't be able to do quick chats with folks along the parade route like we used to. But at least we get noticed. I've already talked to some folks who remembered seeing us on TV in previous years.

We won a prize! We got 2nd place in the non-commercial entry and won $50.
Lori has some greyt pictures of baby Ginny, Monty, Sheana, Bill and Tasha in their finery. Hopefully she'll post them for you soon.
