September is going to be a very busy month. It is also Beach Bound Hounds so a lot of the volunteers are headed to the beach for a weekend (or more). If you have some time and can help with any of these Meet & Greet events let us know.

Sun Sept 7 Dogs Day Out - Windsor Square (don't know time yet)
Sat Sept 13 Matthews M&G 12-4pm
Fri Sept 19 AARF BofA bldg downtown 11:30-1:30
Sun Sept 21 Meet the Breeds 12-4pm
Sat Sept 20 Monroe M&G 12-3pm
Fri Sept 26 Mint Hill Madness 6-10pm
Sat Sept 27 Mint Hill Madness 10-10pm
Sat Sept 27 University 12-4pm & Steele Creek 12-3pm M&G
Sun Sept 28 Mint Hill Madness 10-6pm

This info will also be in the events listing I post each month. Just giving a heads us since we have so many in September.

Lynda can you tell us more about the Dogs Day out at Windsor Square and the AARF thing?
I am assuming the Meet the Breed is the event over at the Kennel club that we have done in the past.

Lynda,
Put me down for the Windsor Square event. I believe you already have me down for the 9/20 "Meet the Breed". I will be canceling the Steele Creek M & G for the month of Sept. so I can work Mint Hill Madness on both Sat. & Sun.just let me know what time you need me for all events. Thanks!

Dogs Day Out at Windsor Square is a new event this year. The merchant "Dogs Day Out" is putting this together and there are four rescue groups included. GNC, SAFE, Great Pyrenese(sp) and one that I have forgotten. DDO is doing a big raffle basket and will be splitting the money between the four groups. I plan to put together a treat basket for our table for a raffle and we will have toys to sale. I do not have the time yet for the event. I am dropping off our raffle donations this week and will have more info so will post then.

AARF is the Animal Advocates Reform Federation and they hold an event each year in downtown at Founders Hall in the B of A bldg. We were invited two years ago. We are allowed three dogs/humans and I need one more volunteer. They are giving us a token for parking.

And Meet the Breed is at the kennel club near Carowinds.

Lynda,
Put us down for MH Madness, although we have a standing commitment to work the Univ. M&G on Sat. so that time is taken. We can do a "night shift" on Sat. for sure, maybe the last two or three hours on Friday night and Sunday we can probably help best during the day/afternoon.

Lynda, Regarding MH Madness. I've been told they were going to put us near the entrance (where the food vendors were last year) to avoid the problem we had last year with security trying to kick us out for having a dog.

Mint Hill Park on Fairview. Take exit 44 off I485 - go toward Mint Hill and the park is located at 485. Easy to find. It is like Matthews Alive. Rides, food, vending, music, stuff like that. We have a booth. Hope you all can come and help.

Thanks for everyone who has volunteered from Mint Hill Madness so far. I will email you all in the next week or so to get a schedule in place. We can use more volunteers so if you would like to assist let me know.

And we owe a big thank you to tbsflame for getting us into the event. For a non-profit the fee was $150.00 or a volunteer to assist the Chamber with pre-activites. Tbsflame has been able to volunteer for the Chamber and snag us a booth.

Lynda,
My husband said that he should be able to help out at the AARF event at founders hall if you need any more people... He won't have our Caeley dog, but he works at BofA in uptown, and said he could help if you needed any more humans. Let me know if you need the help....
