me too... i never thought a broken nail would cause so much trouble and cost me so much money (the total vet bills were $150)

well, the main thing is that he is doing better!!!!

Traci

Can you put a baby sock over it so he will stop licking it? I know that helped us when Maddie had to get some stitches in the webbing of her paw when she reopened a cut during her lure racing (I had to put gauze, then vet wrap, then the baby sock). Hope it is not infected.

Tell Stormy that Maddie said to Stop Licking. Shame on you

it was wrapped for 48 hours and then i was supposed to let it air out. we will see what the vet says today. that is a good suggestion and i may have to do that no matter what the vet says so he will stop licking it.

we have a big hiking trip planned for tomorrow... i guess stormy may be sitting at home Sad

NEW UPDATE ON STORMY:
he has been at the vet since 10:30am this morning and they had to knock him out to get some xrays. the vet was worried about the limping so he wanted to make sure there weren't any fractures or anything else going on. he found a piece of toenail that was stuck inside his toe. he said it was pretty big so that could explain the limping and the constant licking. he is still out of it so i won't be able to pick him up until around 5:30/6:00. the vet says that he thinks he should be fine now and he will be back on pain meds and antibiotics....

Poor Stormy! He can't even run like he'd want to in his new fenced in area! No wonder Odie looks so happy! Twisted Evil

I bet this will end Stormy's infections & limping. Poor baby! Sad

the doctor said that he has no restrictions... this morning, he was running all over the place! that nail that was stuck in there must have been the issue the whole time! i bet he is glad it is out!

Well, thank goodness. Stormy was trying to tell you with all his licking and you listened! Did you let him & Odie out in their new fenced area this morning? Don't it make your life a lot easier?
