My vet has always recommended Frontline for flea and tick control. I see from posts that in addition to the Adams product a lot of folks use Frontline. Is anyone aware of any problems for greys with K-9 Advantix?

Just curious, thanks!

I've used Advantage on my greyhounds (also whippets and cats) for many many years with no problems Smile Last year I tried Advantix and one greyhound and one whippet had what I have to believe was a reaction - diarrhea and throwups Crying or Very sad and general malaise for 24-48 hours after application. I'm back to using Advantage with no problems. Since then, I've been told that the chemical in Advantix that is supposd to help keep mosquitoes away is only effective for a few days at most - so not worth the extra cost or the risk of reaction for me!

Hi! We use Sentinel which eliminates fleas, ticks, heartworms and intestinal parasites with one medication. It works great for us.

Karen,
Sentinel works on ticks, too? I thought only fleas and heartworms. I was trying to not have to use the Frontline. Not b/c Bullet has a reaction to it, b/c it's just so gooky each month.

I think you are right Bonnie. Sentinel packaging says it prevents heartworms, hookworms, fleas, roundworms and whipworms. There is no mention of ticks. I thought it worked on ticks too because my dogs have never had a tick. Sorry for the misinformation.
