Hey everybody, I'm Abigail Hallatt, and my family and I will be adopting Peace. We've been living in North Carolina for about 4 years and are orignally from Rochester, NY. We already have two small dogs, a westie and a shiba named Mitsu and Walter. We'll need all the advice we can get this being our first Greyhound, but we can't wait to get him home ^_^ It was so nice to meet you all, it's a real pleasure to meet such a nice bunch. _________________ We long for an affection altogether ignorant of our faults. Hey you guys, nice to inter-meet you! Now, we have already decided to rename Peace, though the name does fit him to a degree. What do you guys think about Fezzik? _________________ We long for an affection altogether ignorant of our faults. Heaven has accorded this to us in the uncritical canine attachment. ~George Eliot |

Welcome and congradulations!
Let us know if you need any help, advice etc....
I like the name Fezzik. Wasn't that the name of a person in the movie "The Princess Bride" ? I love names that are different.
I named one of mine after a movie name. Isabeau from "Lady Hawk" _________________ Debbie, mom to Reggie, Tim Tam, Chloe Isabeau, Jessie James and Jossie. (2 legged kids Cody and Kelly) Hubby Ron |

Yeah, it is from the "Princess Bride", hehe. We though the whole gentle giant thing fit pretty well. We're also currently thinking of the name Cyrano. And thanks for the welcome you guys! _________________ We long for an affection altogether ignorant of our faults. Heaven has accorded this to us in the uncritical canine attachment. ~George Eliot |

Where in NC are you. You'll definitely want to try to get with a playgroup and see your pup full out! Definitely a sight to see the first time if you haven't seen many Greyhounds before. |

Well, he is scheduled to be neutered on the first or second of April, so if all goes as planned, we should be picking him up on thursday, or friday. We're all very excited! And congrats on your second greyhound! _________________ We long for an affection altogether ignorant of our faults. Sometime it's a very small world. I'm from Binghamton also.
Peace is a wonderful dog. We had him to the Meet and Greet in Mt. Airy and he was a big hit. _________________ Blanche E Fedor

Apex?! You're deep in Greyhound Country now!!! A bunch of us meet on Sunday mornings at the Panera Bread at Beaver Creek (intersection of 55 and 64). We bring our hounds and have breakfast outside. (Greyhounds LOVE bagels and cinnamon rolls!) We're meeting around 10AM now and will change to 9AM when the weather starts to get hot. We're usually there for a couple of hours. Hope you can join us!!

All those events sound great! I'll definitely be joing in! Thanks again for all the welcomes! Regarding names, we're at a loss. My mother, my father, my sister, and I all have our seperate ideas ha. We're probably going to have to spend a couple days with him here before we're able to come up with anything that's not ridiculous. Six more days! I can't wait! _________________ We long for an affection altogether ignorant of our faults. Heaven has accorded this to us in the uncritical canine attachment. ~George Eliot |
