This Christmas we celebrated our 10th & last holiday season together & Rocky is as strong and beautiful as he was the first time I saw him at the kennel. Rocky's body is tired & now it's time for me to be strong for him. Tomorrow he will no longer feel the aches of carrying his weight on those weak legs. His tired heart will no longer struggle to beat & the pain felt only during cold months will be gone forever.
In my heart & my mind I will always remember him running laps around me in a big field, the wonderfully funny booty dance he does when I scratch his backside, his softspot for really yellow stuffed ducks, his ferocious appetite, the wonderful lean into my legs when he's telling me he loves me, his favorite rub spot very gently on his front legs until he finally falls peacefully asleep.....one last time.
It's been almost 10 years since I was last in Greensboro where I adopted first Caesar (now 12) & next Rocky (now 14). I was a volunteer at the Greyhound friends kennel for about 6 months & I can honestly say that it changed my life. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Randy Barrow, who was the kennel director at the time & a very good friend, please forward this news onto him. I know he would be happy to know that Rocky lived a long, full, pampered life next to his brother Caesar.
Thank you--Jeanne Garner Walker

I am so sorry. I celebrated our last Christmas with Beecher. He is still with us but I know he will not be with us at Christmas 2008. I will also release him when the time comes. _________________ Linda

Have a safe trip Rocky and run free on your strong legs. Send your Mommy a sign that you made it okay. _________________ Blanche E Fedor

Congradulations on such a long and wonderful life.
I know you brought much joy to your humans.
Run free and fast at the bridge and say hello to all our babies waiting there for us. _________________ Totty
