So Angel has gotten over her paper thing (well, kind of, i just removed all paper from her reach) and the last few days she has pooped in the bedroom while i'm at work. I keep her and Cornbread gated in there while i'm at work. When i took them for the after work walk yesterday, i noticed that her poo was pretty mushy, maybe that is why. Oh the other thing is she has been eating the evidence!!! Of course i can still see the little brown spot on the carpet! Any ideas? She did go twice yesterday before work and once again at lunch, but there was still that little brown spot when i got home, maybe she just has an upset tummy... Other than that she has been a great new addition to the house, and has made so many friends in the neighborhood that she is taking her rightful place as queen of dogs in the neighborhood!
thanks!

The old "poo-poo"platter,huh??I know the feeling well!!
Paige is our "poo-poo" eater!! Blue Moon is the dirt eater!
My suggestion is to get a "poop guard" for her muzzle.
Both of my girls have one.Pride may need one soon!
He usually doesn't eat poop, but I think Gary siad one
day he did. With the poop guard, they can't eat poop
or dirt!!"Yucks"!! Disgusting!! Don't you think!!
Gotta love them,tho,no matter what!!
Sandy

Yes poo guards are wonderful inventions. But to warn you the first time they wear one they will still try to eat the poop and it will smear all over the guard and then of course get on anything else they rub their face on.

You might also want to try adding something like pumpkin to the diet for a few days. It is good fiber to help firm up the stool.

Pumpkin is a great idea, just make sure it's the plain type not the spicy kind. Use a good enzyme cleaner to clean up the brown spot on the carpet. You don't want her to go back to the same spot and she will if she can smell it. Laughing Good luck.

Maybe you should try crating her again to get her off the track of pooping in the house. They don't normally like to dirty where they have to sleep.
There is a reason we want greys adopted from us to be crated, and that is to get them house trained. Everyone is in a hurry to get them out of the crate and then want to know what to do about them pottying in the house.

I never realized the dogs from the kennel were not house trained. I've never advocated the use of a crate, but in this case it would make perfect sense. You're right about them not wanting to mess up the area where they sleep.
I never had this problem as My dogs were house trained when I got them so You can understand why I never felt like I needed a crate, but in Your case it would be warranted.

Thank you all! this issue has been resolved. Of course she did have a case of runny poo, but that's all better now too!

Gary
Some day if you are around Oak Ridge, come in and see our kennel.
We can house up to 50 dogs-try to keep it around 35-but they are right off the track-except for a few that may be returns for different reasons, divorcing, moving, didn't have a baby before but do now, etc. So, our dogs know that when they come out of their crates it's time to go potty-the same as it is at the track. Other than that, all the training your dogs have had if they come from a foster group, has to be done by the adopter.
