It all started Friday morning after breakfast. Leo (12), Toby (9) and Smoky (7 & blind) all went out for their morning constitutionals. Leo and Toby started looking for their "just right spots" but Smoky who started sniffing the air, went to the back hedge and began rooting around.

That's when the bunny took off across the yard. Toby saw it and gave chase. Now Toby has a standing rule, "no matter how fast he runs - two feet are on the ground at all times". Basically, wide open for Toby is a fast trot for most hounds so he wasn't gaining on the bunny. The bunny ran behind the shed, around the oak tree and right in front of Leo who was pooping. Leo came out of his squat and joined Toby in the chase, but alas the bunny made through the fence before these two "speed demons" could catch it. They just stood at the fence watching it in the front yard, dreaming of what might have been and Smoky was still standing on the other side of the yard wondering where everyone had gone.

Glad to hear that the bunny made it out ok- If maddie was there it probably would not have- but she is getting better when on the leash about leaving the bunnies alone

Yeah if Jasmine or even Maggie had been out there the bunny would have been a goner. But these boys are not as fast as they used to be. And how dare that bunny interrupt Leo's morning constitution.
