What helps flaky skin? We used dog shampoo for sensitive skin but Ester still has a lot of flaking???
What would you recommend?

Fish oil caps, dermacaps, flax fish and borage. All easily found at the vet's (most expensive way), animal supply, petsmart or even the dreaded Wal-mart.
This will moisturize from the inside out, also she is still shedding some old skin from diet and lifestyle changes.
My new girl is still dandruffy and I am using oatmeal shampoo and fish oil.
It just takes a while and these past 2 years we have been having an epidemic of itchy dogs, so the old ones are itchy too. It's something in the air or global warming or some such nonsense. _________________ Totty

There does seem to be a lot of itchy going on. And this time of year doesn't help with the cold air and dry indoor air.
Adding oil to their diet is important. We also give a Vitamin E cap once a day. If you do fish oil you can get it at BJ's, Sams Club in the big bottles. The human product is what we use. Flax seed oil is another good one. IF you use a Pet product like Demacaps get them online at Only registered users can see links on this forum! Register or Login on forum! | They have good pricing.
And brush as much as you can to get all that dead skin and hair off.
We don't shampoo often and when we do we use either an oatmeal shampoo or oxyfresh shampoo. Both followed by a leave on oatmeal conditioner. When Toby's itchy is really bad we bath him with ChlorahexiDerm shampoo and a similiar conditioner. He is our dandruff boy. _________________

The line at the checkout.
I don't think I have every been to Walmart when there hasn't been a line at all the open checkouts. A friend of mine told me to start going at 3am. To which I replied zzzzzzzzz _________________

Just curious...now I know why it's dreaded!!
Actually,I work at the dreaded Walmart....that would
be the University Walmart.I transferred to that store
from the Walmart in Santee,California.Been with them
going into my 12th year now.
If you think waiting in line is a "dreaded" thing.Try
working there!!!(just kidding!) (sometimes!)

Did I mention I work 3rd shift at that dreaded Walmart?
Going to Walmart at 3am would be a shorter wait in line!!!
Actually we close at midnight now because of the 3
robberies we had overnight....with 9 milemeters...not a
pretty picture. The University Walmart will become a Super
Center in Jan. of 2008.We will be moving our location.Maybe
I'll see you there at 3am sometime,Lynda.I'll be looking for
you!!!

Please Sandy, fix the University WalMart!! The place used to be a great resource for stuff for people and pets, but we do our best to not go there anymore, because the lines are so long and the staff acts like no one cares about us, the shoppers. A University area WalMart SuperCenter with people who care would be greyt! _________________ Carol, huMom to greyhounds Lee, Sally and Bizzy, whippets Dodge, Mandy and Spice, and Itty Bitty Kitty. Hi Carol,
You are definitely right! If I could fix that store,I would!!I know one thing,if I had started out working in that store,I would have quit right
away!!
They are the rudest, laziest people who work in that store I have ever seen!!I have been there 6yrs.and we have had 6 different store managers...each one worse than the other!! The associates,as well as some of the store managers, steal that store blind! They steal time,
money and merchandise!!
The store I came from in CA. was totally different. This Walmart is a joke!!
I'm hoping when we become a Super Center, that things will be different.
The University store is one of the dirtiest, trashiest stores I have ever been in.When we come to work at night,we have to clean up the whole store. It's awful!! I am embarassed to say I work in that store!!
Oh,well,we can only hope!!
