I just saw this and thought I'd get it posted. Better late than never. This auction ends* at 7pm PST/10pm EST on Tuesday, January 23 so there's still time to bid. My beloved Irys was saved by these wonderful people AND in February 2005, Scooby took in 100 of the nearly 600 Greyhounds left homeless when the Barcelona Racetrack closed.

Just a little about Scooby if you're not familiar with their work.

The beneficiary of this auction is the Scooby Animal Sanctuary (Scooby, Sociedad Protectora de Animales) in Medina Del Campo, Spain. Scooby is one of a handful of rescue organizations in Spain and is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of Galgos (Spanish Greyhounds) and other abandoned and abused animals.

Scooby was founded in 1997 and began with just a few dogs in a small warehouse with no electricity or running water. Currently, Scooby occupies a vast acreage in the Spanish countryside and provides a home for as many as 500 animals at any given time. Led by founder and President, Fermin Perez, Scooby is dedicated to helping the animals, primarily Galgos, that call Scooby home, as well as conducting various campaigns meant to raise awareness and improve the status of animals in Spain.

Scooby coordinates rescue and adoption efforts with groups on an international scale, including the AmEuro Greyhound Alliance, Galgo Rescue International Network, Scooby Belgium, and various groups throughout Europe. In February 2005, Scooby took in 100 of the nearly 600 Greyhounds left homeless when the Barcelona Racetrack closed. Please visit the following websites for more information:
