I've been lurking here forever and but I don't think I've ever done an introduction.
I'm Ducky and my greys have more normal names, Gracie and Oliver.
Gracie's 6, from GFNC 4 years ago, and sorely tested my sanity and patience during our first few months with her.
Comet, at 13, was with us only 6 months. Someone else's heartless dump led us to the joy of adopting seniors. His passing led to Oliver.
Oliver's 12, from GFNC. He's been with us for nearly 2 years.
Both Gracie and Oliver tolerate Miss Pudge, our big/little mutt girl.
Hubby, I and our pack live near the coast and hang out with the CoastalGreys folks when we can.

I remember when you adopted Comet and Oliver. Bless the seniors! Cathy talked us into "fostering" Miles a 10 yr old return about three years ago. That fostering lasted about a daybefore the paperwork was filed. We lost him at age 13. He introduced us to the love of a senior. We have since had Pumba at age 13 and now Leo at 11 (12 in one month).

The young ones are fun and fiesty but the look in the eye of a senior is impossible to resist. All they have to do is look at me and I would give them the world if I could. Instead they are happy to settle for a treat.

When We got our first Grey We wanted a younger dog and Paige age four (now six) came to live with Us. We knew as soon as We got her that We wanted another one, enter Pride age two (now three). On 9/26/06 We got our senior Blue Moon age ten going on two !! Blue was brought back to GPA-SC by Her previous owner who had Her for six years because they were getting divorced, We got Paige under the same circumstances.
Divorce can be stressful and trying, I know, I've been through two of My own. Regardless I would still keep My hounds no matter what.
You haven't lived until You've experienced the love of a senior !!! It's truly special.

Gary,
Dad to Paige, Pride, and Blue Moon the "Diva"

I have not adopted seniors but I have seniors due to age. lol. Tessie will turn 11 on Dec. 2. I think when they age into senior they are more demanding than the ones you adopt as a senior. Laughing

Welcome! We're glad you're here. Well, I guess you've actually been here a while now but we just didn't know it Very Happy

I'm Cynthia from Charlotte. My little pack consists of Keno, soon to be 13, Carly, who's 3 1/2, and my galgo, Cruz, who's probably about 4.

Back in 2000 I fostered an 8 year old girl who was a victim of a divorce. She had been with this couple since she was 2 years old and was devastated. She just moped around for at least a week. It just broke my heart. At some point during the second week with me, she greeted me at the door with a wagging tail, put her paws on my chest and kissed me right on the lips! I decided right then that she was home and officially failed my one and only fostering attempt. Very Happy I adored that spunky little girl. We had almost 3 1/2 years together. I wouldn't trade that for anything. She was very special.

Here's my sweet Chloe in 2000 shortly after she came to live with me. I think she may have still been a foster when I took this picture Smile

And here she is in 2003 not too long before I lost her.

Cynthia, you are as bad at fostering as I am. I fostered twice and failed twice. lol.
I did foster Schmoo, my granddog for a month and did not fail but I would have if I could have. Laughing Schmoo comes to visit all the time and I am so happy to see her. She was here during Thanksgiving. I love her.

We have discovered that seniors are one of the greatest gifts we could have giving ourselves!! Blue is awsome!! (and came to us through divorce of her owners). All I know is that Blue is very demanding!! All the time!!
When she starts whinning...it would be a good idea to just stop what you are doing and go pet her.She will not stop whinning until you do!! She is a handful..and we love evey minute of it!! With seniors, you never know how much time you will have them with you,so whatever Blue wants...Blue gets!! She has earned every minute we give her!!
