What's wrong with gobs of white hair all over your clothes??

That's what lint rollers are for, right? Wink I have one at home and one at the office. I should buy stocks in the lint roller industry. Razz

Varonica....Some newly adopted greys experience a massive shed a few weeks or months after arrival at their new home. It is called "blowing the coat" and happens because the dog is safe, happy, and getting consistant nutrition and care. Coarse or yellowish fur may be replaced a softer, shinier coat. Your greyhound will shed a couple of times a year, but probably not as much as you are experiencing now.

All...It is interesting that you say dark dogs don't shed as much as other colors. I never thought about it before. You are right. ProMan (black) didn't shed much at all. My brindle girls shed a little bit more. Sam (fawn) and Flo-Jo (cow dog) shed like mad. Go figure.

Best Wishes!
Karen

Think As I have been doing fostering and owning greys for over 17 years I have seen every color there is in a grey. I will say the the type of coat and color is a big deciding factor in how much they shed. Some greys even though they are black or brindle have a bit of a long coat and our Jack, a black and Johnny and Chelsea, brindles, were such dogs. They shed year round just like Katie our cow dog. Whistle, Wizard, Baron, and Lovey [2 blacks and 3 brindles] hardly ever shed unless we changed their diet.
One of the things that we found that really helped with the shredding was to give each dog 1000mg of fish oil every day. This is an oil filled capsule that I just throw into the bowl with dinner and they eat it right up. My blacks had such a shiny coat that you could almost see your reflection. All my guys coats have been silky but some have been soft like bunny fur. cool
