I plan to go down when I get off work Friday and should be there be approx. 2:30pm.
I will have flyers printed in both english and spanish with me, plus sheet protectors and maps.
I will poster along Reedsford Rd and any nearby businesses, whatever I can do before dark.
I have instructed owner to have a box on their porch where I can leave additional posters for other searchers.
Other searchers: please leave info in the box regarding where you have hung posters or passed out flyers.

Other efforts can be seen here:

This is what I posted on Greytalk.com about today's search:

Janet (GTer Jordan) and I went to search site arriving around 2:30pm.
We put up flyers on utility poles, street signs and mailboxes.
Owner arrived shortly before we finished and was given the remaining bright green flyers, plastic sleeves, contact numbers, and instructions.

Clarification: Janet and I spoke with Christy, animal control office manager Sampson County. She was on her way home Wednesday, it was nearly dark, it was raining. On a sharp curve along Reedsford Rd she saw Selma running on the road. Tooted her horn. She was unable to stop due to traffic behind her and oncoming traffic. She saw Selma get hit, saw that car (in her rearview mirror) pull over. Given the hazards at that time and that there is virtually no shoulder to the road, I can understand why she could not stop.
Let's not get any debate up about this issue. She also did not know about Selma's escape at this time. The next day the owner came to her office, she took her to the site, they saw some blood. Resident at this site had seen Selma run beyond their home Wednesday evening.

Location of hit: 2055 Reedsford Rd just after dark

While putting up flyers we met a woman who had seen Selma within 30 minutes prior to being hit at the intersection of Reedsford Rd and Billy Lane ( a dirt road). She indicated that Selma was running toward 2055. Owner of this property has given permission to search.

This means that when Selma escaped she ran down Melvabrook, made a right turn on Reedsford, ran at least as far as Billie Lane, turned around and ran back up Reedsford (towards home). No U Turns Selma had made a u-turn.

There have been no further sightings since that first night.

Today we spoke with 2 rural mail carriers whose routes are on Melvabrook and Reedsford.
Spoke with the owner of Part Perfect Rentals at 1825 Reedsford (910)592-5734. We have permission to park on her property and search if needed.
From there we headed back down toward 2055 Reedsford and hung flyers on poles, street signs. Continuing down Reedsford we also hung a flyer near Andrews Chapel Church.
We made a left turn onto Beamans Woods Rd, flyers all along including Nutmeg Lane, B&W Tire Repair (not too friendly), We Care for Kids Daycare, mailboxes at the corner of Jean Lane.
Also on Beamans Wood about halfway down, there was a hog farm operation. We spoke with the owner and he will spread the word with his hunting club buddies.
From there we made a left turn onto Rowan Rd. At that corner we ran into a county employee who was putting up a roadsign. He said he'd take the flyer to the county shop and have it distributed there. ***note to jurishound, can you find and followup with a fax to Sampson county offices, particularly the road maintenance division and garbage services?****
From Rowan Rd we turned back onto Reedsford Rd, essentially driving a loop.
We flyered at the corner where the VFW is (910)592-3579, open 2th&4th Tuedays.
We also went down Cecil Odie Rd, flyering poles and mailboxes.
Hung flyers on a very long row of mailboxes for KingsWood Mobile Estates. that property comes close to backing up to near Selma's owners home.

This is a very rural area, a few small developments, tralier parks, farm fields and woods. There were some small ponds along Reedsford near Melvabrook. There is virtually no shoulder to the road, stopping is dangerous. Access to utility poles is difficult as most are on the other side of a steep ditch. There are no stores or gas stations long it.

I think we flyered every place we could find. The owners need to search again near 2055 Reedsford and Melvabrook.
Janet and I told them we'd come back if they got a sighting. Without a sighting we just don't know where to focus.

Potential searchers:
Should you travel to this area from I-40/Wilmington you need to take the exit Hwy 903 to Magnolia. From there eventually uyou;ll turn right onto Hwy 421 heading to Clinton. {I tried to take the Hwy 24 exit at Warsaw (where the rest stop is) but Hwy 24 is closed for repairs about 4 miles out. I had to go further north and then backtrack down.}

Animal control is closed on weekends. I will be directing Christy from AC to this site. She is eager to help. Note the animal control office is no longer off Rowan Rd but is now near the intersection of Hwy 421 and Cecil Odie Rd. By turning right on Cecil Odie Rd you will eventually intersect Reedsford Rd.

We are on hold until there is a sighting or if owner needs us to do something.

FOUND !
Selma was found today.
She has a leg injury and will probably get her tail amputated but she did eat and drink today.
I'll post updates in the Grey Life section of this forum as I get them.
