Anyone know of a good place (home or other) to board my one male grey for a week in a few weeks? He is very gentle - good with kids - good disposition......but maybe not cat friendly - I don't know. I live in the Ballantyne area of South Charlotte. Please reply to

or call me at 704-543-1500. We usually have a neighbor let him out but for 6 days, I think that he needs more company. He misses other greys! Thanks, Angela Jordahl

We have a cat so can't help, but in the Charlotte section of this forum there is a list of kennels and services that greyhound people have used and recommended in the past.

If anyone has other places they would like added to that list let me know.

I got the name of VIP Kennels in Monroe (not far from 485/74 interchange) on this site. It's an older facility, but I liked their policies and the people there. Plus they're open til early evening even on Sundays, so you can pick up at night (even though you still have to pay for that day). My Grey didn't stay there (he went with us to Mountain Hounds), but the terrier and the cat seemed happy enough when we picked them up! Good luck!

Has anyone used Doggie Playland for kenneling? I have been there just to check it out and it looked nice and the owners were very nice. A person in the parking lot gave day care a good reveiw. And a guy at work took his grey for day care and he liked it.

I would like to add it to our list. But first I wanted to check to see if anyone had good or bad experience with kenneling services.

Thanks for mentioning this one Debbie! I have Club K9 on the list. Someone did use their services and suggested they be included.

I use Carolina Doggie Playland on a regular basis. Just picked up Vanish after a three night stay. Vanish actually goes to play at least once or twice a week. It's the second time she's been boarded there. They seem to take good care of her. We send her with her favorite blanket, toy, and food. The nice part is that they are not in a small room all day since they have a large area that the dogs play in.
You do need to go over there before boarding her because they test all the dogs that visit with them to make sure they are friendly. Aren't all greys?
