Ok
Here is a question that I have for you all- Maddie (aka Miss Piggy) is not finishing her dry dog food. I have noticed that she has been doing this for about a week and 1/2. She will eat her canned wet food and leave the dry. Also she will eat her treats and will sniff her way through the refigerator when I am getting something out. She eats everything but her dry food. I kept telling her that there are starving dogs in China (dopes that sound familiar- my parents used the starving kids on us when we were going up) and that she needs to eat her food. I even have reduced the amount of her dog food she gets to see if she will finish but shefdoes not- is this due to weather or her trying to maintain her girlish figure? Everything else is fine. Thanks _________________ Amy

Julius periodically does this and it doesn't seem to have
any particular cause.
I think as long as she is acting fine I would not worry. Maybe she is on edge from all the thunderstorms we have been having? _________________ Totty

Ah, another case of "well trained owner"!
My fosters try to pull that trick. Nope, you eat what's in the bowl, period, finito. _________________ Christina

Hmmm, those starving dogs in China didn't do it for her?
As long as she is not showing any symptoms anywhere else I wouldn't worry to much. My Miss Maggie-Mae is the champ of not eating everything or sometimes anything. She will eat the appetizer off the top fo the food and leave the rest and sometimes she sniffs and walks away. After many tests, herbal, homeopathic and regular medicine the vet told me to stop worrying and leave her be. She is in good health, has good coat, good eyes good muscle tone. If she is hungry she will eat. That concept is working for Maggie. Now if she were to start skipping ALL meals then I would be off to the vet. _________________

Blue Moon will sometimes not eat everything in the morning but finishes everything in the afternoon and She's in good health. If Your hound wasn't eating at all I'd be worried, but this doesn't sound like the problem here. In fact it doesn't sound like a problem at all. Don't worry.
